What does Mega mean for Grow a Garden 2 pets?

Mega is the display label for the largest pet size tier (also called Huge in some game files). Mega pets are rarer than Big, and Mega Rainbow is the top size+type combo.

How is the “1 in N” rarity calculated?

We divide an assumed ~50 million unique gardeners by how many of that exact variant exist in census snapshots, then round to two significant figures. Only pets rarer than about 1 in 100,000 are listed.

Why do some pets show “??????” or very high 1-in-N?

Extremely rare combos may have zero or near-zero known copies in the census. Those still rank at the top; counts refresh as new snapshots arrive.

Why are Garden Valley and Fall Harvest listed separately?

Each world keeps its own inventory, so a pet belongs to exactly one world's save and the two censuses are counted independently — the same combo can be far rarer in one world than the other. Fall Harvest pets do turn up in Garden Valley: Magic Mail and world travel carry them across, and once there they are counted on the Garden Valley board.

Each world is counted on its own — pets live in that world's inventory, so Garden Valley and Fall Harvest numbers aren't comparable. Fall pets can show up in Garden Valley too: Magic Mail and world travel carry them across.

How pet rarity is calculated

We start from real census data — periodic snapshots of how many of each pet variant actually exist across players — and divide the game's player base (we assume roughly 50 million unique gardeners) by that count. So if a variant exists on about 50 accounts, that works out to roughly "1 in a million." Every figure is rounded to two significant digits so the numbers stay clean and clearly approximate.

Size and Rainbow stack on top of a species' base tier, which is why the headline combinations are so scarce: a Mega Rainbow of a top-tier species is the rarest thing a pet can be. The list only includes pets rarer than about 1 in 100,000 — anything more common than that isn't really a "rarest pet."
